Our Sonographers

At DVIF& G ultrasound is part of our everyday practice in evaluating patients for follicular (egg) growth and endometrial (uterine lining) development. Our physicians depend upon the sonographer's ability to visualize, measure, and document pertinent structures, while establishing a rapport with patients that make them feel at ease.

Our current staff of sonographers have at least 10 years of experience and some have 20 years of experience scanning the OB/GYN patient. They are:

Laurie Miller, BS, RDMS, has been with DVIF& G since 2000 and graduated from Thomas Jefferson University in 1987. Laurie has 17 years of experience in maternal-fetal and reproductive endocrinology medicine. 

Grace Sveinbjornsson, RDMS, has been with DVIF& G since 2000 and graduated from Thomas Jefferson University in 1985. Grace has been in maternal, fetal, and reproductive medicine for 19 years. Recently she authored a research paper that was published in the Society of Diagnostic Medical Sonographer Journal. 

Vibha Mehta, BS, RDMS, has been with DVIF& G since 2001 and graduated from The Ultrasound Diagnostic School. Vibha has 10 years of diversified experience in women's medicine, including OB/GYN and breast specialties. She also earned a BS in Microbiology from Bombay University in Bombay, India. 

Vicki Cava, BS, RDMS, has been with DVIF& G since 2003 and graduated from Thomas Jefferson University in 1996. Vicki has experience in all aspects of diagnostic ultrasound with specialties in pediatric, gynecological, vascular, and interventional procedures. 

Barbara Hughes, RDMS, is our latest addition to DVIF& G. She joined our staff in 2005. Barbara graduated from Thomas Jefferson University in 1979 and has vast experience in maternal-fetal and reproductive medicine. Well published, Barbara's work has appeared in six research publications and in 17 presentations and abstracts since 1990.
